Health & Safety Protocol
COVID-19 -Heath & Safety Protocol
The health, safety and welfare for you and the people you photograph for this project is of paramount importance. We have prepared the following health and safety Covid-19 Protocol for all photographers in the collective with the best of the information that is available at this time. This Covid-19 Protocol is mandatory and for your safety and others. You are also expected to follow and keep checking the Covid-19 advice given by HM Government, the devolved Parliaments of Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and your Local Authority appertaining to your business. In addition you must maintain a clean and safe environment for yourselves and the people you photograph.
Studio photo sessions
If you’re using your studio for your photo sessions, it must be deep cleaned by using disinfectant / isopropyl alcohol and/or steam cleaning before and after your photo session. This includes surfaces that could be touched, any props and clothing used. Your studio needs to be aired thoroughly to minimise any droplets in the air. Do plan at least 1 hour between sessions to enable a deep clean of all surfaces and accessories to take place and to ensure there is no contact between people arriving and leaving the premises.
Environmental photo session
This includes any outdoor spaces whether in someone’s garden, outside their home, or at a park or seafront, In these open spaces keep to your 2 meter distance throughout. If you plan to do interior shots in people’s homes please wear a mask and gloves and keep to the 2 metre distance. Ask for windows to be open to help air circulate freely.
Checking for wellness
For your safety ensure the wellness of each healthcare profession that you photograph. They need to disclose if they have had a fever or any other symptoms such as coughs, sickness or vomiting or been in contact with anyone displaying Covid-19 symptoms, suspected of having Covid-19 or has had a Covid-19 positive test result at least 24 hours before their session.
Self monitoring
All photographers will be required to monitor their temperatures and health before the shoot. Keep yourself safe, use disposable gloves and masks in the studio and on location as a precaution, these should be used as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Hand washing
Thoroughly wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds before all studio sessions. On location use sanitising hand gel and make it readily available.
Social distancing
Make every effort to keep the 2m social distancing advice at all times where possible both in the studio and on location. This includes moving or adjusting hair or clothes. During your portrait session give instructions from the distance, you can use mirroring techniques to help keep to the social distancing rules.
Continuing updates
As updates can change regularly, we expect you to commit to checking for and make adjustments in accordance with any new regulations issued by HM Government and your Local Authority.
